Collaborations are an integral part of my practice, working alongside other creative practitioners allows me to explore new avenues of research. Over the last few years I’ve collaborated with Matthew Bellwood and Alison Andrews from A Quiet Word, most recently on the Seacroft Tapestry Project.
Working alongside local schools and community groups in Seacroft, we created a series of embroideries inspired by the Seacroft Scroll. The scroll was created by the community in 2018 and tells the history of Seacroft from the Ice Age visitors of 8000 BCE to the future plans imagined by participants.
The embroideries came together to produce a series of soft furnishings for an installation at Chapel FM in Seacroft. The room was designed to look like a 1950s living room where the cushions, quilt and tablecloth were displayed.
