Working with Rainbow Hearts, I was commissioned by Leeds City Museum to create a zine as part of the exhibition, It Takes a Community.

Our workshops were full of colour and sparkle, sharing stories and finding treasures in the button box and ribbon bags. These incredible women came together to celebrate the sense of community and friendship they have found at Rainbow Hearts.

Some of their stories were moving to hear, sharing things that are difficult to imagine if you haven’t experienced those situations but I chose to include them in the zine. Not all stories bring happiness but they are there to highlight social and political issues that need to be shared.
