After months of research, planning and stitching, install week for my exhibition Archive & Other Stories is finally here.
There are so many elements to exhibition install and I’m happy to have support from my husband. He’s much more handy with a screwdriver than me and offers a sense of calm!
My work has been in quarantine at Whitby Museum for the last six weeks. This ensures the fabrics don’t bring contaminants into the museum.
Then the mammoth task of unwrapping over thirty pieces of work which have been mummified in bubble wrap.
We’ve created a working area in the museum, there’s a lot of prep work like mirror plating the framed pieces and arranging the cabinets.
It’s been exciting to start planning the exhibition layout, moving pieces around like a puzzle.
The exhibition launches on Saturday 15 September at 1pm in the museum’s exhibition gallery and runs until Sunday 18 November.
